A few days ahead of your appointment, please drink lots of water, electrolytes, and moisturize your skin. if you get a moment to exfoliate, even better! the healthier your skin is from the inside and out, the better the experience and heal of your tattoo will be!
On the day of, please come having had a good meal & lots of water. I suggest bringing water and a small snack with you, just in case!
WHAT TO WEAR: Please wear clean, comfortable clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting stencil or tattoo ink on, in the off chance that that happens. If you are getting a tattoo on your torso, shoulder, neck area, please consider a button down shirt as it can be worn in a variety of creative ways during the session. If you are getting a leg tattoo, please consider bringing a pair of shorts. It is always nice to bring a comfy layer in case you get cold.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY TATTOO?
Aftercare for a New Tattoo
CLEAN(clothes + sheets + hands)= a cleaner tattoo!
Leave your adhesive bandage wrap on for 1-3 days. If I wrapped you in plastic wrap, leave it on only for up to 6 hrs. You may see platelets mixed with ink build up inside the bandage over the course of that time. That is normal! If you ever see that the platelets are leaking out of the bandage or that the bandage has opened or rolled up in any place, exposing the tattoo to the outside world, it is time to take off the bandage.
Wash your hands. Then wash your tattoo gently and well with your fingertips and unscented soap after removing the bandage/wrap. Take the bandage off in the shower using unscented, alcohol-free soap to help peel the bandage away from your skin, letting water wash over it as you remove it. Once the bandage is off, wash your tattoo thoroughly (but carefully) using your fingertips & warm water & unscented and alcohol-free soap to remove any excess dried blood and platelets.
Pat your tattoo dry using a clean paper towel. Do not use a cloth towel and do not rub. You may see redness & swelling in the shape of the bandage for a few days. This will go away over time!
Apply a thin layer of unscented, unmedicated moisturizer. After cleaning your tattoo, ensure the area is completely dry before applying a thin layer of your chosen tattoo aftercare lotion to help moisturize and nourish the area.
Repeat the cleaning process until the tattoo is fully healed. Remember that your tattoo isn’t completely safe from germs and bacteria until it has finished scabbing and peeling. Continue to wash the tattoo 1-2 times a day, or whenever it has gotten dirty or sweaty, until it’s fully healed (usually about 2 weeks).
Don’t pick or pull at the flaking/scabbing skin. Picking away at your healing tattoo can delay healing, cause fading, and increase the chances of infection.
Stay away from the sun. Don’t expose your new tattoo to intense sunlight, and don’t apply sun lotion to the area until it has fully healed.
No Swimming. All bodies of water can contain nasty bacteria or chemicals that can infect or irritate a new tattoo if you’re not careful. Stick to short showers until your skin has fully healed, and don’t go swimming. don’t go in a sauna.
Continue to look after your tattoo. Once the tattoo is fully healed, keep it well protected from the sun with SPF and ensure you regularly moisturize the area. Healthy hydrated skin means a healthy-looking tattoo.
Throughout the healing process, especially right after the session, please hydrate! and please refrain from anything that will cause excess sweating! I recommend taking at least 5 days off from vigorous exercise.
If you have any questions or concerns at all, please don’t hesitate to email me!
If you see that a particular area of the tattoo is becoming irritated or red, a light layer of bacitracin (triple antibiotic ointment) over the tattoo will do wonders.

DEPOSIT POLICY
Deposits are non-refundable. Your deposit is a contract telling me you are committed to this appointment date. If you come to your appointment on that date at that time, the deposit will go towards the total price of the tattoo or act as the drawing fee if it is a custom appointment.
This deposit protects me in case of last minute cancellations, meaning if you cancel, I am still paid a small portion for my time that I had saved for you in the studio space i am renting.
The only case in which I will refund deposits is if 1) I need to cancel for any reason. 2) you cancel two weeks or more prior to the appointment and I am successfully able to fill the spot, essentially replacing your deposit with another client’s. it is not possible to guarantee this, therefor there is not guarantee you will get a refund of your deposit if you cancel with two weeks notice or more.
If you decide to request a new appointment in the future after your canceling, the booking process begins fresh. A deposit is required for the new appointment date.
If I cancel your appointment for any reason, I will first ask if you would like to reschedule without a new deposit. You may either reschedule with me or I will refund your deposit within one week of receiving your payment details.
